Patch 11.2.7 is the final major update of The War Within and prepares players for the Midnight expansion launching in early 2026. It introduces early access housing, new story content, major system updates, the return of the Brawler’s Guild, and improvements to several game modes.
Early Access Player Housing
Players who pre-purchased Midnight can claim a home in Founder's Point for the Alliance or Razorwind Shores for the Horde. Neighborhoods can be created for guilds and communities. Furniture can be crafted, earned from quests and achievements, or bought from vendors. Raid and dungeon achievement furniture is granted retroactively.
Players who do not own Midnight can still start collecting housing items.
New Story Content
A new campaign chapter titled The Warning continues the narrative of The War Within. It introduces a dark prophecy concerning Quel’Thalas and begins with the Visions of a Shadowed Sun quest.
Lorewalking: The Elves of Quel’Thalas
Lorewalker Cho offers a new lore questline that revisits major events involving the Blood Elves, Void Elves, and the Sunwell.
Pandaren Heritage Armor
A new questline on the Wandering Isle rewards the Pandaren Heritage Armor.
Turbulent Timeways Event
Running from December 2 to February 9, this ten-week event features Shadowlands Timewalking for the first time. Six Shadowlands dungeons are included along with new rewards, achievements, and gearing options.
Brawler’s Guild Returns
On December 9, the Brawler’s Guild reopens in Orgrimmar and Stormwind. It features new bosses, updated rotations, challenge achievements, and rewards such as housing decor, a recolored flying mount, and a new version of Bruce.
Horrific Visions Revisited
Players can queue for either the Orgrimmar or Stormwind Horrific Vision at any time.
Legion Remix Updates
World bosses return to the Broken Isles. Doomguard Challengers drop Fragmented Mementos in Heroic tier. Motes of a Broken Time can now be scrapped for additional mementos. Several abilities and visual effects have been improved for clarity and consistency.
Skyriding Updates
Vigor has been removed. Most flying abilities use six shared charges that regenerate over time or with Second Wind. Take Off no longer costs a charge. Whirling Surge now has its own cooldown.
UI and Accessibility Changes
Press and Hold now works with the Single Button Assistant. Tutorials for new and returning players have been expanded. A new Catch Up Experience is available after a period of inactivity or through the Adventure Guide. Item comparison is enabled and improved. Cursor artwork has been updated. Movement defaults now favor strafing, with a prompt allowing players to select their preference. The PvP Group Finder is now bound to Shift plus N.
Item and Currency Changes
Apexis Crystals, Order Resources, and Veiled Argunite can now be freely shared between characters within a Warband.
