Free PS Plus Games for December 2025 Are Officially Available Now

The PlayStation Plus free games for December 2025 are now available to claim. This month's batch is larger than usual, with PS Plus subscribers able to claim five titles, including one of the highest rated games of 2022.

After launching limited time game offers for PS Plus members in 2010, Sony initially included two titles each month. With the arrival of the PS5 generation in 2020, the PS Plus lineup expanded to three free games per month. These remain accessible indefinitely once claimed, but require an active PS Plus subscription to play.

Five Free PS Plus Games for December 2025

Departing from its usual format, Sony is offering five titles this month, two more than usual. The PS Plus December 2025 free games are Killing Floor 3, LEGO Horizon Adventures, Neon White, Synduality: Echo of Ada, and The Outlast Trials. They can be claimed from December 2 through January 5. The larger lineup is part of Sony's holiday season offers on the PlayStation Store.

All Free PS Plus Games in December 2025

Game Platform(s) Value User Score OpenCritic Avg.
Killing Floor 3 PS5 $39.99 3.51 70
LEGO Horizon Adventures PS5 $39.99 3.83 71

Neon White Stands Out as the Highest Rated Title

One title stands out in the December 2025 lineup. Neon White, a speedrunning focused first person shooter and platformer from Angel Matrix, holds a Mighty rating on OpenCritic with an average score of 89 and a 99 percent reviewer recommendation rate. This places it among the highest rated games of 2022. It also has the highest user score in this month's lineup at 4.73 stars, although The Outlast Trials is close behind.

Sony's Free Monthly Game Strategy May Change in January 2026

Only two of the five titles this month are available on the PlayStation 4. With Sony confirming that it will begin phasing out PS4 games from PS Plus in January 2026, this may be the last monthly lineup with multiple PS4 titles. The shift may instead begin with the PS Plus catalog, which is limited to the Extra and Premium tiers.

Some PS Plus Users Get a Sixth New Game Today at No Extra Cost

December 2 brings an additional off schedule update. The PS5 version of Red Dead Redemption has joined the PS Plus Extra and Premium catalogs. This enhanced edition features improved visual quality, including increased draw distance, refined motion blur, HDR support, and upgraded shadows comparable to the Ultra settings on PC. Resolution has been boosted from 720p to 4K. Other improvements include updated controller deadzone settings, faster loading times, and button prompts designed for the DualSense controller.

Red Dead Redemption runs at 60 frames per second in native 4K on PS5, although this was already possible with the PS4 version when played on the newer console. Early users report minor issues, such as PS4 saves not unlocking trophies automatically and some NPCs disappearing during cutscenes. Rockstar has not yet commented on these problems.
