Genshin Impact Teases Durin and Jahoda Gameplay Ahead of Version 6.2

HoYoverse has officially unveiled new character trailers for Durin and Jahoda, the two upcoming playable additions arriving with Genshin Impact Version 6.2. Both characters have been major points of excitement within the community—Durin for long-running lore reasons dating back to Version 1.2, and Jahoda for her unexpectedly strong fan reception since her debut in Nod-Krai.

Durin’s long-anticipated arrival completes years of buildup, and Version 6.2 will finally make him playable. Jahoda, meanwhile, has quickly grown into a favorite thanks to her quirky personality, excellent animation work, and the performance behind her character.

Durin and Jahoda Arrive in Version 6.2

Ahead of their December 3, 2025 release, Genshin Impact has shared full gameplay and story trailers for both characters.

Durin’s trailer focuses on his personal journey—his life as one of Rhinedottir’s creations, his struggles to adapt, and his slow integration into Mondstadt. Scenes show him fishing with Klee, sharing drinks with Kaeya and Dahlia, and learning from Lisa. Version 6.2 also introduces a unique unlockable outfit for Durin through his Story Quest, visually representing the contrast between his past and present self.

Jahoda’s trailer takes a lighter tone. As the only official member of the Curatorium of Secrets, she often handles the tedious tasks Nefer avoids, trying her best to seem efficient despite her chaotic streak. Her interactions with characters like Nefer and Ineffa continue to charm fans, cementing her popularity heading into launch.

Gameplay Highlights for Jahoda and Durin

Jahoda is a 4-Star Anemo Bow unit designed to serve as a dedicated healer for Lunar Reaction teams. She functions as a flexible sidegrade to characters like Nefer or Flins. Standard Anemo builds will work well with her, especially Viridescent Venerer with a focus on ATK% and Energy Recharge. Version 6.2 will make gearing her easier by offering an Energy Recharge bow through its Flagship Event.

Durin’s kit reflects his complex history, allowing him to fill two distinct combat roles. He can serve as an on-field driver for Melt or Vaporize teams or act as an off-field Pyro enabler for Burning, Overload, Pyro Crystallize, and Pyro Swirl setups. He also excels in teams built around the Hexerei system.

Version 6.2 expands the Hexerei—a group of eight characters that includes Durin, Mona, Venti, Klee, Albedo, Razor, Sucrose, and Fischl. Running two Hexerei characters together grants strong combat buffs, offering valuable upgrades to several older units. Players will unlock each Hexerei Rite by completing new quests in the update.

Version 6.2 Banner Lineup

Durin and Jahoda both feature in the first half of Version 6.2 alongside Venti. With his new Hexerei buffs, Venti has reemerged as a powerful Anemo hypercarry. He will also debut a new Signature Weapon, The Daybreak Chronicles, which will headline the Weapon Banner when Version 6.2 launches on December 3.

With two highly anticipated characters and major system updates, Version 6.2 is shaping up to be one of Genshin Impact’s most exciting patches yet.
