New early-development footage of Grand Theft Auto 6 has surfaced online, reportedly leaked through a demo reel created by a former Rockstar Games employee. Though the clips are from a very early stage of production, they appear to showcase several gameplay features that may be included in the final release. With GTA 6 slated to arrive in November 2026—twelve years after the launch of GTA 5—any glimpse of new content has fans buzzing.
Rockstar’s original reveal trailer in December 2023 broke multiple YouTube records, confirming the game’s long-rumored return to Vice City and introducing new protagonists Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval. Since then, anticipation has only grown, and this latest leak adds even more fuel to the excitement.
Former Rockstar Employee Shares Early GTA 6 Footage
The leaked demo reel contains several snippets of GTA 6 development footage. One clip shows a placeholder character interacting with what appears to be a bike rental station, complete with animations for mounting and dismounting a bicycle. Another sequence shows Lucia jumping off the roof of a truck, followed by animations suggesting players may be able to ride in the beds of pickup trucks.
The video also includes assorted animation work from Red Dead Redemption 2, GTA 5, and Max Payne 3, indicating the reel was likely assembled to showcase the animator’s broader portfolio rather than intentionally leak undisclosed material.
Even in rough form, the footage hints at returning mechanics—like the bicycle rental stations featured in GTA 5—as well as potential upgrades, including expanded vehicle interaction that could allow multiple players to ride in truck beds. If implemented, this could add more tactical options in both single-player and GTA Online.
GTA 6 currently remains scheduled for release on November 19, 2026.
A Major Step Forward for the Franchise
Rockstar appears to be pushing GTA 6 far beyond the scale of previous entries. The new Vice City is expected to be denser and more immersive, reportedly offering a significantly larger number of explorable interior locations. The studio is also rumored to be expanding side activities, building on mini-games from GTA 5 while introducing new ones such as hunting and scuba diving.
Combat may also see a major overhaul, with reports suggesting a revamped cover system inspired by Red Dead Redemption 2. Combined with the confirmed dual-protagonist setup, these enhancements signal Rockstar’s ambition to deliver its most dynamic open world yet.
Hype Continues to Build
Despite its lengthy development cycle, GTA 6 remains one of the most anticipated games in the industry. For the second consecutive year, it earned a nomination for “Most Anticipated Game” at The Game Awards—a testament to its enormous cultural footprint. The game’s current release target in November 2026 follows a delay from its previously planned May 2026 window, but with leaks emerging and marketing likely to ramp up, more official updates may be right around the corner.
As fans wait for Rockstar to share new details, the leaked footage has only intensified the excitement surrounding what may be the most ambitious game the studio has ever created.
