Elden Ring Nightreign’s First DLC, The Forsaken Hollows, Launches December 4

FromSoftware and Bandai Namco have officially unveiled a major expansion for Elden Ring Nightreign titled The Forsaken Hollows, set to release across all platforms on December 4, 2025.

The news doesn’t come as much of a surprise to fans who’ve been following closely. During Kadokawa Corporation’s recent earnings call on November 6, the company hinted that new Nightreign content was coming before the end of its current fiscal year, which wraps up in March 2026. Now, just days later, that teaser has turned into a concrete release date.

A New Chapter Begins in The Great Hollow

The Forsaken Hollows was officially revealed during Sony’s State of Play Japan broadcast on November 11. The expansion made its debut through a 108-second trailer showcasing new environments, fearsome bosses, and a haunting underground world called The Great Hollow—described as a massive cavity within the region of Limveld.

This expansion introduces two entirely new Nightfarer classes, offering fresh ways to approach the game’s demanding combat system:

  • Scholar – Focused on high Arcane stats and precise battlefield analysis.

  • Undertaker – A Faith-and-Strength hybrid designed for aggressive, close-range combat.

Alongside these additions come new boss encounters, exploration zones, and lore that expands the mysterious world of Nightreign.

Some Players Already Own The Forsaken Hollows

If you purchased the Deluxe Edition of Elden Ring Nightreign, you’re in luck — The Forsaken Hollows is already included at no extra cost. The Deluxe Edition, priced at $54.99, comes with the base game, a digital mini soundtrack, and an artbook.

Previously, Bandai Namco offered a Deluxe Upgrade Pack for $15, which has now been renamed to The Forsaken Hollows. Those who picked it up earlier will automatically receive the new DLC when it drops in December.

What’s Included in The Forsaken Hollows

Here’s a quick breakdown of what players can expect:

  • Two new Nightfarers: Scholar and Undertaker

  • A brand-new Shifting Earth environment – The Great Hollow

  • New bosses and story content

  • Pre-order bonuses: digital mini soundtrack and artbook

The Future of Nightreign

From the start, the Deluxe Edition promised one major DLC expansion, and The Forsaken Hollows fulfills that commitment. Whether more content follows will depend on its commercial performance — something Bandai Namco and Kadokawa will surely be watching closely.

Elden Ring Nightreign has already surpassed 5 million copies sold as of July 2025, and Kadokawa expects this new expansion to keep the roguelike’s strong momentum going well into 2026.

With The Forsaken Hollows, FromSoftware looks ready to deepen the dark magic of Nightreign’s world, giving fans even more reasons to return to the haunting lands of Limveld.
