Dispatch Dev Responds to Season 2 Requests

Fans of Dispatch may have reason to get excited. AdHoc Studio, the team behind the hit episodic adventure game, has responded to growing calls for a second season, hinting that the idea is on the table — though nothing is official just yet.

The game, which stars Aaron Paul and was developed by several former Telltale Games veterans, has become a major success since its launch in October 2025. Dispatch quickly captured players with its cinematic storytelling and intense, decision-driven gameplay, selling over 1 million copies within its first 10 days. Despite the fact that the final two episodes haven’t even dropped yet, fans are already eager to see what a Season 2 could look like.

AdHoc Studio "Thinking About" Dispatch Season 2

During a recent appearance on SkillUp’s “The Friends Per Second” podcast, AdHoc Studio co-founder and Chief Creative Officer Pierre Shorette addressed the community’s growing enthusiasm for more Dispatch. When asked about the possibility of continuing the series, Shorette replied, “We’re gonna have to at least think about Season 2 now.”

It’s a cautious but hopeful statement — one that confirms Season 2 isn’t off the table, even if it’s not yet in active development. The team seems aware of the game’s breakout success, but Shorette stopped short of promising anything concrete.

The Reality Behind Dispatch’s Episodic Format

While Dispatch has been released in an episodic format, it’s unlikely that each episode was developed week to week. Each new two-episode pack arrived exactly one week apart, which suggests that AdHoc Studio completed most of the content well before the first release. In this case, the episodic rollout may have been more of a marketing strategy than a reflection of an ongoing, segmented development cycle.

That means a full-fledged second season — if greenlit — would likely take years to arrive. Modern game development cycles are longer and more complex than ever, and AdHoc Studio’s quality-focused approach will almost certainly require time to match (or exceed) the bar Dispatch has already set.

Dispatch’s Finale and Critical Reception

The grand finale for Dispatch is set to premiere on November 12, when episodes 7 and 8 launch for PlayStation 5 and PC. Judging by fan enthusiasm, it’s likely to be one of the biggest releases of the month.

As of November 9, Dispatch holds an “Overwhelmingly Positive” rating on Steam, with more than 21,300 player reviews. The game’s success not only marks a win for AdHoc Studio but also underscores the revival of narrative-driven storytelling in gaming. After the fall of Telltale Games, many wondered whether there was still a large audience for cinematic, choice-driven adventures — Dispatch proves there absolutely is.

While there’s no firm confirmation of Season 2 yet, one thing’s clear: AdHoc Studio has struck a chord, and fans aren’t ready to hang up the phone on Dispatch anytime soon.
