Big update for Battlefield 6 players: DICE has disabled the Lock-Guided Missile on Infantry Fighting Vehicles (IFVs)—and it’s about time.
For almost a month, players noticed a serious bug: the missile could ignore enemy countermeasures (like flares or smoke) and take down tanks, helicopters, and jets nearly every time. That made IFVs way too powerful—and unfair.
Now, DICE says the weapon is temporarily turned off while they fix the issue. The good news? It should be back in next week’s patch.
Why Was This Such a Big Deal?
The two main IFVs—the M3A3 Bradley and STRF 09 A4—are already popular because they’re fast, armored, and great for supporting your team. But with this broken missile? They became unstoppable.
DICE confirmed they’re “working to address inconsistencies” and will bring the missile back once it’s balanced.
What Else Is Happening?
This isn’t the only fix coming:
-
Strikepoint XP glitch was also patched this week (remember the 2 million XP exploit? Gone!)
-
Challenges were overhauled after fans said they were too grindy—now you need far fewer kills, revives, or damage to unlock stuff
-
Big Season 1 update still coming November 18—with new map, new mode, and more
So if you’ve been avoiding IFVs because they felt broken—or using them because they were broken—this is your chance to reset.
Because next week? The battlefield gets fair again.
