Analyst Predicts Black Ops 7 Will Beat Battlefield 6 in Sales—Again

When it comes to big shooter showdowns, Call of Duty still has the upper hand.

Even though Battlefield 6 had one of its strongest launches ever—selling an estimated 10 million copies and winning back fans after Battlefield 2042’s rocky debut—industry experts say it still won’t outsell the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 7.

According to Alinea Analytics, a trusted gaming data firm, Black Ops 7 is on track to win the sales race when it launches on November 14.

Why the Confidence in Call of Duty?

It’s not just hype—it’s history.
As analyst Rhys Elliott put it:

“That momentum alone won’t be enough to overturn Call of Duty’s overall market dominance—this year, at least.”

Here’s why:

  • Call of Duty is a multi-platform giant—huge on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC

  • Battlefield still leans heavily on PC players, with less pull on consoles

  • Even Battlefield 6’s massive Open Beta (521k on Steam) doesn’t tell the whole story—Black Ops 7’s beta was spread across four consoles and multiple PC stores, so its true reach is harder to measure

But Battlefield 6 Isn’t Giving Up

Let’s be clear: Battlefield 6 is having a moment.

It’s the best Battlefield in years—and could mark a real comeback for the series.

Elliott even said this might be the start of something bigger: while Black Ops 7 will likely win this year, Battlefield is finally building the kind of momentum that could challenge Call of Duty in the future.

The Bottom Line

Black Ops 7 drops November 14 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
Battlefield 6 is already out—and fighting hard.

But when it comes to sales?
Call of Duty’s reign looks safe—for now.

Still, for Battlefield fans, this might be the beginning of a comeback story worth watching.
