Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Reveals Patch Notes for November 24 Update

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 has rolled out a new post-launch update that focuses on fixing issues across its three core modes: Co Op Campaign, Multiplayer, and Zombies. The update is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. This is a server side hotfix and does not include new content.

Developer Treyarch Studios has been steadily improving the game since its November 14 launch. Multiple updates have introduced balance changes, bug fixes, and quality of life improvements. The previous patch adjusted Aim Assist by reducing the range based penalty for Rotational Aim Assist from 35 percent to 25 percent.

Players who have run into issues across Black Ops 7's modes will find additional improvements in this new hotfix. According to the notes below, the grace period for earning Low Blow and Dive Shot Medals has been increased, making the Multiplayer Challenge easier to complete. Several minor UI fixes and stability improvements have also been implemented.

Zombies mode has received specific fixes for Challenge tracking. Sticky Grenades were previously not counting toward a Daily Challenge requiring 25 Zombie eliminations with Equipment. This has now been corrected. Treyarch has also removed the Eliminate 5 Special Zombies Daily Challenge without offering an explanation.

Players waiting for new content will need to hold on a bit longer, as this update focuses solely on fixes. The wait will not be long, however, since Season 1 begins on December 4. The first major content drop will introduce new weapons, Operators, modes, Warzone features, and nine total Multiplayer maps, including four brand new ones.

Nintendo Switch 2 Gets New System Update for November 2025

Nintendo has rolled out a fresh system update for the Switch 2, bringing the hybrid console to version 21.0.1. The original Switch also received its own update on November 24. While the patch does not introduce new features, it continues Nintendo’s ongoing efforts to strengthen system stability across both platforms.

A Busy Year for Nintendo

2025 has marked a major milestone for Nintendo with the launch of the Switch 2 on June 5. Expectations were sky-high as the system followed the massive success of the 2017 Switch. Despite launch hurdles such as pricing controversies, the Switch 2 has already sold millions of units. As its player base expands, Nintendo has maintained a steady stream of system updates focused on stability and user experience improvements.

What’s New in Version 21.0.1

The latest update, released November 24, introduces standard stability enhancements alongside two key fixes intended to improve connectivity and system transfers.

Key Fixes

  • Corrected an issue that caused Error Code 2011-0301 or 2168-0002 during local system transfers from a Switch to a Switch 2

  • Resolved a problem where some wireless controllers and Bluetooth audio devices failed to reconnect after waking the system from Sleep Mode or disabling Airplane Mode

The original Switch also received an update addressing the transfer bug and providing additional stability improvements. As usual, Nintendo did not specify what the general improvements include, but both systems should download the update automatically. Users can manually confirm their system version in the System Settings menu.

A Packed Release Schedule

The update arrives during a high-profile period for Nintendo. Kirby Air Riders, released November 20 as a Switch 2 exclusive, introduces a new racing experience inspired by Kirby Air Ride on the GameCube. Fans are also awaiting Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, launching December 4 after an extended development cycle.

While these titles might not rival the sales power of Mario Kart World, they are key additions to the Switch 2 library. Their performance may influence hardware momentum during the holiday season, and it remains to be seen if Nintendo will share another system update before the year ends.

Switch 2 Version 21.0.1 Patch Notes (November 24, 2025)

  • Fixed an issue where Error Code 2011-0301 or 2168-0002 would repeatedly occur during system transfers from a Switch to a Switch 2 using local communication

  • Fixed an issue where wireless controllers or Bluetooth audio devices sometimes failed to connect after waking the system from Sleep Mode or turning off Airplane Mode

  • General system stability improvements to enhance the user experience

Fortnite Is Getting Another Major Music Collaboration

Playboi Carti has officially confirmed that he will be collaborating with Fortnite, sparking major excitement among fans of both the artist and Epic Games' hit battle royale. The news arrives just as Fortnite wraps up its massive crossover with The Simpsons, which transformed the map into a cel-shaded world filled with locations from the beloved TV series.

As Fortnite approaches its big Zero Hour live event, players can expect a chapter finale packed with characters from many of Chapter 6’s biggest crossovers. At the same time, Epic Games has already started teasing what’s coming next in Chapter 7. Confirmed additions include The Bride from Kill Bill and a potential Back to the Future crossover hinted by recent teasers. With hype building quickly, fans are eager for every new detail.

Playboi Carti Confirms Fortnite Collaboration

Rumors began circulating on Twitter after several Fortnite leakers suggested that Playboi Carti would soon be joining the game. The speculation ended when Carti himself posted the Fortnite logo on Instagram, adding the caption: “NAHH FR.” While details are still under wraps, reputable leaker Kurrco claims that the collaboration may include cosmetics and a live musical event.

Epic has a strong history of hosting massive in-game concerts, including shows from Daft Punk, Ariana Grande, and Travis Scott, making a Playboi Carti performance a very real possibility.

Fortnite's Ongoing Push Into Music

This isn’t Fortnite’s first big rap collaboration. Eminem, Travis Scott, and others have already appeared, and Epic even coordinated a musical event in Times Square where Snoop Dogg and Ice Spice helped launch the Chapter 2 Remix mini-season in late 2024. Many fans are hoping Playboi Carti’s crossover might receive similar large-scale treatment.

Epic’s investment in music continues to grow. Season 12 of Fortnite Festival will be headlined by Lisa from Blackpink, allowing players to enjoy her songs in-game along with new cosmetics expected to appear in the Item Shop or Music Pass.

With Playboi Carti, Lisa, and more major artists joining the Fortnite universe, players have a lot to look forward to as the game heads into Chapter 7.

Sony Releasing PlayStation Games on PC Has Paid Off in a Big Way

PlayStation has earned an estimated $1.2 billion in profit from selling its games on Steam, according to a detailed new analysis. With console exclusivity slowly fading, both Sony and Microsoft have expanded their reach by putting more first-party titles on competing platforms. While the long-term industry impact is still debated, the financial upside for Sony is already clear.

Although Sony hasn’t embraced day-one multiplatform launches as aggressively as Xbox, PC releases have become a major strategic pillar. CEO Herman Hulst has explained that PC ports of blockbuster titles like God of War help attract new players to the PS5, while simultaneous PlayStation-and-PC launches for live-service titles maximize community size from day one. The strong performance of games like Helldivers 2 and Horizon Zero Dawn shows that the strategy is paying off.

PlayStation Games Have Generated $1.5 Billion on Steam

A November 21 report from Alinea Analytics estimates that Sony’s PlayStation titles have brought in over $1.5 billion in gross revenue on Steam. After Valve’s platform cut is deducted, that translates to about $1.2 billion in profit directly to Sony.

Helldivers 2 is the top performer by a wide margin, generating around $400 million in Steam revenue. This aligns with earlier reports showing that the game sold over 12 million copies across PC and PS5 in just 12 weeks—making it Sony’s fastest-selling game of all time.

The rest of the top five Steam performers are notable for being single-player hits, not live-service offerings:

  • Horizon Zero Dawn

  • God of War (2018)

  • Days Gone

  • Marvel’s Spider-Man

Each has sold strongly on PC, reinforcing the idea that Sony’s prestige single-player games have long tails when brought to new platforms.

Microsoft Is Benefiting Too

Sony isn’t the only one finding success with cross-platform releases. For example, Forza Horizon 5 earned $100 million in revenue from PS5 sales alone, and as of late 2024, PlayStation players accounted for 64% of all spending on Microsoft-published titles. With console sales slowing across the industry, releasing exclusive games elsewhere has proven to be a lucrative secondary revenue stream for both companies.

Why Sony Might Still Slow Down on PC Ports

Despite this success, rumors suggest Sony may be cautiously stepping back from bringing its biggest single-player sequels to PC as quickly. The Alinea Analytics data offers a clue: sequels haven’t matched the performance of series debuts on Steam.

  • God of War Ragnarök sold less than half of what God of War (2018) sold on PC.

  • Spider-Man 2 sold about half as well as the first Spider-Man PC release.

This suggests that while the initial entry in a franchise draws major interest from PC players, follow-up titles may see diminishing returns.

Regardless of how Sony adjusts its strategy going forward, the results are undeniable: PlayStation’s PC expansion has been a massive financial win, boosting revenue, expanding brand reach, and introducing iconic franchises to millions of new players worldwide.

Uninhibited By Microtransactions: Dispatch Devs Reflect on the Game’s Success

AdHoc Studio’s co-directors Dennis Lenart and Chris Rebbert have opened up about the success of Dispatch, offering insight into the game’s unexpected rise and sharing what they hope the industry learns from it. Revealed less than a year ago at The Game Awards 2024, Dispatch quickly became a breakout hit, leaving fans eager for more.

With a cast featuring Aaron Paul and Laura Bailey, Dispatch delivers an episodic narrative adventure reminiscent of classic Telltale experiences. That connection isn’t surprising, as AdHoc Studio is made up of former Telltale developers. The overwhelmingly positive reception to the studio’s debut title has sparked widespread calls for a second season, though nothing has been officially confirmed yet.

The Two Foundations Behind Dispatch’s Success

In a recent interview, co-directors Dennis Lenart and Chris Rebbert highlighted two key factors that fueled Dispatch’s impact.

1. A Return to Pure, Linear Storytelling

According to Lenart, players still crave strong narrative-driven experiences, especially in a gaming landscape overflowing with updates, battle passes, and microtransactions. He noted that many modern games feel overly complicated, requiring downloads and offering constant upsells. In contrast, Dispatch delivers a straightforward, immersive story players can simply start and enjoy without additional purchases.

As Lenart put it, many players want “a personal singular or linear playthrough… that is uninhibited by microtransactions.”

2. Weekly Episodic Releases That Created Event-style Engagement

Rebbert emphasized the importance of the game’s reliable release cadence. Unlike older episodic titles that launched episodes weeks or even months apart, Dispatch delivered new content weekly, transforming each episode drop into an event. The format helped keep players engaged and talking, to the point where the studio issued a message to fans on the first week without new content.

What the Developers Hope the Industry Learns

While some have pointed to Dispatch’s adult humor and mature moments as contributing factors, Lenart and Rebbert hope studios don’t misinterpret what made the game resonate. They explained that these elements serve as flavoring—tools to enhance character moments and emotional impact—rather than the foundation of the experience. Lenart emphasized that shock value was never the starting point; storytelling was.

Despite past claims that narrative-driven single-player games were fading, Dispatch proves the genre is very much alive. Its success highlights a continued appetite for tightly crafted stories that prioritize character, emotion, and immersion over monetization.

The Future of Dispatch

Even the actors are eager to continue. Aaron Paul, who voices protagonist Robert Robertson, publicly expressed his desire to return for more seasons. While AdHoc Studio has yet to announce what comes next, the game’s widespread acclaim suggests Dispatch has the potential to become a long-running series.

For now, fans will have to wait for the studio’s next move, but the enthusiasm surrounding Dispatch makes it clear that narrative adventures still have a powerful place in the industry.

Valve Confirms the Steam Machine Won’t Receive Subsidized Pricing

Valve has officially confirmed that the upcoming Steam Machine will not be sold at a subsidized price—dashing earlier hopes that the system might launch closer to the cost of mainstream game consoles. Instead, the device will be priced similarly to a mid-range gaming PC, with its final cost heavily influenced by the rising price of RAM and graphics hardware.

A Premium Device Aiming for Console Gamers

Announced on November 12, the Steam Machine represents Valve’s latest attempt to bridge the gap between console and PC gaming. While the company has not yet revealed a price or release date, the system is expected to launch sometime in 2026.

Powered by a six-core AMD Zen 4 processor clocking up to 4.8 GHz, the Steam Machine will support certain user customizations—such as installing alternative operating systems—and will come in 512GB and 2TB models. The device aims high, offering up to 8K output through DisplayPort.

Valve Confirms: No Subsidized Pricing

In an interview with SkillUp, Valve software engineer Pierre-Loup Griffais confirmed that the Steam Machine won’t be subsidized. Instead, it will be priced to compete with PCs offering similar specs.

Griffais emphasized Valve’s goal:

“For it to be a good deal at that level of performance.”

This means the Steam Machine’s retail price will fluctuate with the market costs of its components—including 16GB of DDR5 RAM and 8GB of GDDR6 video memory.

RAM Prices Could Push Costs Even Higher

Unfortunately for consumers, this confirmation comes during a period of soaring global RAM prices. Throughout the fall of 2025, DDR5 memory has surged by over 200%, driven largely by supply being diverted to AI infrastructure projects from companies like OpenAI and Google.

Memory kits that sold for $90 in August 2025 now cost more than $250, and the trend is showing no signs of slowing.

This spike has already fueled rumors of Microsoft considering yet another Xbox Series X/S price increase, further signaling how strained the hardware market has become.

Powerful Hardware—But at What Cost to Consumers?

Valve has stated that the Steam Machine will outperform over 70% of current Steam users’ PCs, positioning it as a compelling upgrade option. Yet its ultimate success will depend heavily on whether gamers are willing to pay a premium for a compact, console-like PC.

For now, all eyes are on Valve as fans wait for official pricing and launch details.

Battlefield 6 Fan Pitch Proposes Bold New Twist for Conquest Mode

A Battlefield 6 player has sparked discussion across the community with a fresh idea to add more map variety to Conquest—suggesting that the iconic mode should be playable on the game’s REDSEC battle royale map, Fort Lyndon. While the concept has gained traction online, it has also sparked debate about whether DICE could—or should—bring it to life.

A Fresh Spin on Conquest: Bringing Fort Lyndon Into the Mix

Reddit user the_shortbus_ shared the proposal, imagining how Conquest could integrate select portions of the massive REDSEC map. While not advocating for the entire battle royale space to be played in a single match, they instead suggested dividing Fort Lyndon into smaller, self-contained Conquest arenas.

For players who enjoy Fort Lyndon but aren’t fans of the BR format, this approach could offer the best of both worlds. The user noted that the open areas could also “give aircraft room to breathe,” addressing long-standing community requests for more dynamic air combat zones.

The post quickly drew attention, climbing in upvotes and sparking creative replies—including mockups of how Fort Lyndon might be cleanly sectioned into three unique Conquest maps.

Battlefield Fans Split on the Feasibility

While many loved the idea, not everyone was convinced it could work.

Critics highlighted several hurdles:

  • Current Conquest maps still need fixes, and adding new ones built from REDSEC might stretch the developers thin.

  • Fort Lyndon wasn’t designed for traditional multiplayer, meaning key areas might not be optimized for Conquest flow.

  • Some fear the mode could inherit REDSEC’s issues—such as reports of lag, sparse lobbies, and uneven pacing.

It’s worth noting that parts of the REDSEC map already appear in Battlefield 6’s Portal mode, though fans have voiced similar concerns about performance and population there.

Others pitched alternative uses, suggesting Fort Lyndon could support a mode similar to Battlefield 1’s Operations, where the massive map layout would shine.

What’s Next for Battlefield 6?

Despite various launch and post-launch issues, Battlefield 6 continues to maintain strong player numbers, especially on Steam. As the Winter Offensive update arrives on December 9, players can look forward to the new Ice Lock Empire State map—while the fate of the fan-suggested Conquest redesign remains uncertain.

Whether or not REDSEC ever joins Conquest, one thing is clear: the Battlefield community is eager for bold, creative additions to keep the action evolving.
