The Wait Is Finally Over
After what felt like an eternity without news, Arc System Works has been drip-feeding details about Marvel Tokon over the past month. Last month's PlayStation State of Play gave us a release date, plus new characters like Wolverine and Danger. The game pairs characters into teams of four — and speculation ran wild about who would fill out the remaining slots.
Spider-Man's team was especially exciting since there were so many possibilities. Now we finally have our answer.
That "Dimension" Tease Wasn't About Miles
Earlier today, the official Marvel Tokon Twitter account posted:
"Every helping hand is welcome, even those who come from another dimension."
Fans immediately assumed Miles Morales was finally being revealed — the dimension-hopping Spider-Man we all wanted.
Wrong. It was Peni Parker.
Her new trailer confirmed she's the last member of The Amazing Guardians, which includes:
- Peter Parker
- Peni Parker (and her SP//dr mech)
- Kamala Khan
- ...Star-Lord?
Yeah, Star-Lord's inclusion is a bit odd. But we'll roll with it.
A Knowhere-based stage was also revealed alongside Peni.
Peni Parker's Playstyle
Based on the footage, Peni is a heavy fighter who relies on SP//dr's massive strength and size. She also has a wide range of gadgets to mix up her moveset — perfect for her Spider-Verse versatility.
Honestly? As much as I wanted Miles Morales, Peni is a far more interesting pick from the Spider-Verse. She's got the mech, the tech, and the personality. Can't wait to see her in action.
