Ubisoft Remake Rumors Reach Fever Pitch: Are We Days Away from a Shadow Drop?

Hey, Daily Quest readers! Ubisoft fans are currently on high alert. If you’ve been following the breadcrumbs, it looks like two of the most anticipated remakes in the company's history—Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time and Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag—are surfacing at the exact same time.

Here is the breakdown of why the internet thinks an announcement (or a full release) is imminent.

1. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake

After years of "development hell" and a total reboot by Ubisoft Montréal, the Prince is finally stepping out of the shadows.

  • The ESRB Smoking Gun: On January 14, 2026, the game officially received a "T for Teen" rating from the ESRB. This usually only happens when a game is content-complete and ready for store shelves.

  • The "Tomorrow" Leak: On January 15, data-miners discovered a new file on the official website named game-release-tomorrow.png.

  • The Shadow Drop Theory: Industry insider Tom Henderson has long pointed to January 16, 2026, as a potential release date. If the website files are accurate, Ubisoft might skip the hype train and simply launch the game tomorrow.

2. Assassin’s Creed Black Flag "Resynced"

While Prince of Persia is confirmed, the Black Flag remake—reportedly titled Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced—is currently Ubisoft’s "worst-kept secret."

  • Domain Registration: On January 3, 2026, fans discovered that Ubisoft officially registered assassinscreedblackflagresynced.com.

  • Musical Clues: This week, the Ubisoft Music YouTube channel began re-uploading the original Black Flag soundtrack. For a game that is 13 years old, this sudden activity usually signals a remaster or remake reveal.

  • Release Window: Leaks suggest this title is the "unannounced project" in Ubisoft's financial documents, slated to launch before the end of the fiscal year on March 31, 2026.

Final Drop: A Surprise Ubisoft Forward?

With Rainbow Six Mobile launching in February and these two remakes potentially hitting in Q1, rumors of a surprise Ubisoft Forward in late January or early March are swirling. However, if that game-release-tomorrow image is real, you might be playing Prince of Persia by the time you finish your morning coffee.

What’s your take, Quest squad? Are you ready to dive back into the Caribbean with Edward, or are you more excited to rewind time in Persia? Let us know in the comments!
