Hey, Daily Quest readers! If you were checking your in-game calendar for the end of Season 1, you’ll notice things have shifted. Battlefield Studios has officially delayed the launch of Season 2 (and the next big REDSEC update) to February 17, 2026.
The developer cited a need for "further polish and refinement" based on community feedback. While a nearly month-long delay might sting—especially with the game seeing a recent dip in active players—the studio isn't leaving the frontlines empty. A massive Season 1 Extension Update is dropping on January 20 to bridge the gap.
The "Frostfire" Extension: What’s Coming January 20
Instead of the new season, Raiders and Soldiers will get a "bridging" update designed to keep the grind alive.
Season 1 Battle Pass Extension: If you haven’t hit Tier 100 yet, you now have until February 16 to finish it off.
The Frostfire Bonus Path (Starts Jan 27): This is a secondary progression track that runs concurrently with your main Battle Pass.
Free Rewards: Hardware XP Boosts, a new Vehicle Skin, and player card items.
Premium Rewards: (Requires S1 Battle Pass) A new Weapon Package, a Soldier Skin, and Career XP Boosts.
No "Bonus Challenges": Unlike previous events, all 110 points needed for Frostfire are earned through standard Weekly Challenges.
Valentine’s Day & Double XP Events
To make the wait for Season 2 a bit sweeter, the extension includes several community events:
"Love is a Battlefield" Event: A Valentine's Day celebration featuring special login rewards and a duos-themed Portal showcase.
Double XP Weekends: Several are scheduled between January 20 and February 17 to help players catch up on weapon mastery and rank.
Daily Login Rewards: A new set of rewards will be active throughout the extension period.

Final Drop: Quality Over Haste?
Battlefield Studios is also doubling down on Battlefield Labs, using it as a public testing ground for late-stage content. This move suggests they are taking the "community feedback" seriously after criticism regarding map flow and the intensity of the "Winter Offensive" grind.
What’s your take, Quest squad? Are you happy to have more time to finish the Battle Pass, or are you ready to move on to Season 2's gas-mask-themed "new threats"? Let us know in the comments!
