Sucker Punch has announced a major upcoming update for Ghost of Yotei, bringing New Game Plus, new rewards, upgraded gear tiers, expanded Photo Mode features, and additional quality-of-life improvements. The patch arrives November 24, setting the stage for even bigger content coming in 2026.
Ghost of Yotei launched in early October and has been a major success for both Sony and Sucker Punch. Since release, the game has mostly received smaller patches focused on fixes and polish, but with the experience now stabilized, the development team is moving into its post-launch expansion phase. Fans won’t have to wait long to see the first wave of new content.
New Game Plus Arrives November 24
In a new PlayStation Blog update, Senior Communications Manager Andrew Goldfarb confirmed that Ghost of Yotei will receive its next big patch on November 24. The highlight of the update is the arrival of New Game Plus, which becomes available once players complete the main campaign. The mode adds two new difficulty levels and two additional trophies while allowing players to retain all previously earned gear.
Players who begin a New Game Plus playthrough will gain access to a new currency called Ghost Flowers. These can be traded at a special vendor for 10 new charms and over 30 additional cosmetics, including new dyes and armor sets. A higher upgrade tier for existing weapons and armor will also unlock, giving players more room to strengthen their builds.
Additional Features and Enhancements
Beyond New Game Plus, the update introduces several useful gameplay and quality-of-life features. A full stats screen will now be available, and players can replay content after completing the main story. Photo Mode is also expanding with new options such as shutter speed controls, composition grids, and new filters. Accessibility improvements include customizable directional button inputs.
2026 Legends Mode Tease
The blog post concludes with a preview of what’s coming in 2026: the return of the fan-favorite Legends multiplayer mode. The free update will introduce two co-op missions and four survival-based challenges where players fight demonic versions of the Yotei Six. Multiple playable classes will be available, though Sucker Punch has not yet revealed specific details.
Ghost of Yotei’s next chapter begins on November 24, and with Legends mode on the horizon, players can expect the game to continue growing well into 2026.
