ARC Raiders Players Have a Serious Complaint About Its Newest Map Condition

Hey, Daily Quest readers.

The Headwinds 1.13.0 update brought the vertical chaos of "Bird City" to the Buried City map, but it also brought a schedule that feels like a personal attack on anyone with a day job. While the January 28 hotfix was a win for gunplay, the community is currently in a state of "Reddit Riot" over the fixed event timers.

The Conflict: Bird City vs. Real Life

The "Bird City" modifier—which floods the Buried City rooftops with high-tier loot nests and intense PvP—is currently on a fixed 24-hour loop. Because the schedule resets to the exact same times every day, millions of players are effectively locked out of the new content.

  • The Brutal Schedule (Eastern Time/EST):

    • 11:00 AM: You're at work/school.

    • 7:00 PM: Commuting, dinner, or family time.

    • 3:00 AM: You're (hopefully) asleep.

  • The GMT Struggle: For our UK/European Raiders, the situation is even worse, with the primary evening slot hitting at 1:00 AM, making the "premium loot" a total non-starter for the working population.

Community Backlash: "Dynamic or Bust"

A petition on r/ArcRaiders has exploded with over 4,500 upvotes, with players demanding a shift to a 23-hour or 25-hour rotation.

  • The Solution: If the cycle were 23 hours instead of 24, the event would naturally shift one hour earlier every day, allowing everyone—regardless of timezone or work shift—to eventually hit a prime-time Bird City window.

  • The Quote: As u/Jay-SA121 put it: "It's a non-starter for GMT day-jobbers. We get the same exact maps with the same exact conditions every single night. Embark: Let us play!"

Why Bird City Matters (And Why We’re Salty)

Missing the window isn't just about missing a "cool map look." Bird City is currently the best way to farm Raider Tokens and Rare Blueprints thanks to the new Trophy Display project.

  • High-Value Loot: Chimney nests are spawning 12+ Rubber Ducks and RNG Epics per run.

  • The Solo Bonus: Level 40+ solo sweats can pull an extra +20% XP in Bird City, but only if they can actually log on during the 60-minute window.

Current Event Status (Buried City)

EventTypeSchedule FrequencyStatus
Bird CityMinor Condition3x Daily (Fixed)Active Controversy
Lush BloomsMinor Condition3x Daily (Alternating)Stable
Locked GateMajor Event3x Daily (Fixed)High Wait Times

My Take: Embark Listens, But Will They Pivot?

Embark has proven they can move fast—the 24-hour weapon hotfix is proof of that. However, map schedules are tied to server-side rotations that might be harder to "hot-swap." Given the DDoS attacks the studio is still fighting off today, we likely won't see a schedule tweak until the Shrouded Sky update in February.

Are you stuck in the 3 AM loop, or have you actually managed to land on a Bird City rooftop? Let me know in the comments if you think the events should be 100% random or just a shifting 25-hour clock!

Share the salt with your squad, and stay locked for the Shrouded Sky reveal.

Tomb Raider: Catalyst—India Map Leak Suggests Massive Open World!

Hey, Daily Quest readers.

LARA’S OPEN-WORLD REVOLUTION IS HERE! We’ve been hearing whispers about the next mainline Tomb Raider for years, but a fresh leak from the industry’s most consistent insider, V Scooper, has finally given us a look at the scale of Lara’s next mission.

Following the official reveal of Tomb Raider: Catalyst at The Game Awards 2025, a leaked frame-by-frame breakdown of the trailer suggests that Crystal Dynamics is moving away from "hubs" and toward a single, continuous open world set in Northern India.

V Scooper’s Bombshell: One Map, Three Biomes

V Scooper, who originally leaked the India setting back in 2024, dropped a New Year's shocker on January 27. According to his analysis of the TGA "Vista Shot":

  • Seamless Exploration: The map appears to feature snow-capped mountains, lush jungles, and arid deserts all coexisting on a single horizon.

  • Continuous Map: Unlike the Survivor Trilogy, which used narrow "squeeze-through" corridors to load new regions, Catalyst is reportedly built for uninterrupted traversal. You can allegedly see landmarks from one biome while standing in another.

  • The "Largest TR Ever" Quote: This aligns perfectly with Crystal Dynamics' own marketing, which calls Catalyst "Lara’s biggest adventure yet."

The "Unified" Timeline: Sequel to Underworld?

In a massive twist for lore buffs, Catalyst is confirmed to take place several years after 2008's Tomb Raider: Underworld. This means the "unified timeline" is officially bridging the gap between the Legend trilogy and the modern era.

  • The Story: A mythical cataclysm has unearthed the Ashoka ruins across India, awakening "Guardian Forces" that Lara must race to contain before a rival society of raiders plunders them.

  • The Heroine: Lara is being performed by a "gaming veteran" (rumored to be Eva La Dare), bringing a more seasoned, confident version of the character back to our screens.

Double Lara: 2026 vs. 2027

Bungie isn't the only one doing a double-drop. We are officially in the "Golden Era" of raiding:

GameReleaseThe Gist
Legacy of Atlantis2026A "reimagining" of the 1996 original. UE5 visuals, dual pistols, and the T-Rex are back!
Tomb Raider: Catalyst2027The "Next-Gen" open-world sequel. Motorbikes, parachutes, and huge Indian vistas.

Fan Split: Open World W or L?

The community is currently divided. While half of Reddit is hyped for a "Horizon-style" India where Lara can use a motorbike and a parachute to reach distant peaks, others are terrified of "Ubisoft bloat."

  • The Hype: "Imagine a tomb that isn't a separate level, but a mountain you actually have to find and climb."

  • The Fear: "I don't want to spend 20 minutes driving through a desert to find one collectible."

My Hot Take: If Crystal Dynamics keeps the tombs as dense, handcrafted puzzles and uses the open world for high-speed traversal (bring back the bike!), this could be the Elden Ring moment for the franchise.

Are you ready for an open-world Lara, or do you prefer the tighter, linear tombs of the classic era? Drop your predictions below—I’m personally hoping for a fully upgradeable Royal Enfield motorbike!

Share this with your fellow raiders, and stay locked for the first gameplay deep-dive later this spring.

Black Flag Resynced: Ubisoft Trolls Fans as Leaks Hit Critical Mass

Hey, Daily Quest readers.

AVAST, PIRATES—FLAGS UP! After years of playing coy, Ubisoft has finally broken its silence. On January 28, 2026, the official Assassin’s Creed X account replied to a leak of a brand-new Edward Kenway collectible statue with the iconic GTA San Andreas meme: "Ah s**, here we go again."*

It’s a cheeky nod that confirms what we’ve all known: the Jackdaw is coming back. But while the hype is high, the development seas are currently looking a bit choppy.

The "Resynced" Leak Timeline

The evidence for this remake (not just a remaster!) has been stacking up like plunder in a cargo hold:

  • The Name: A PEGI rating briefly surfaced in December 2025 for "Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag: Resynced," rated 18+.

  • The Domain: Ubisoft’s preferred registrar, GANDI SAS, recently locked down assassinscreedblackflagresynced.com.

  • The Statue: A 35cm high-end Edward Kenway figure by PureArts (dated with a 2026 copyright) was spotted on the resale app Vinted, which is what finally triggered Ubisoft’s meme response.

  • The Music: Ubisoft Music "accidentally" reuploaded 18 tracks from the original 2013 soundtrack earlier this month, citing "technical issues."

The Delay: From March 2026 to "FY2027"

According to insider Tom Henderson, the original plan was for Black Flag Resynced to go gold the first week of February and launch on March 19, 2026. However, Ubisoft is currently undergoing a massive "portfolio reset."

  • The Reset: Ubisoft recently canceled six projects (including the long-troubled Prince of Persia: Sands of Time remake) and delayed seven others.

  • New Window: Resynced has reportedly been pushed into Fiscal Year 2027. This means the absolute earliest we will see Edward again is April 2026, but most analysts are now betting on a late 2026 or early 2027 release to ensure the "enhanced quality benchmarks" are met.

What to Expect in the Remake

Leaks suggest this is a "ground-up" rebuild using the modern Anvil engine (seen in Mirage and Shadows):

  • No Modern Day: Rumors suggest the Abstergo office segments are being cut in favor of more Edward story content.

  • Seamless Transitions: No loading screens when moving from your ship to land.

  • UE5 Visuals? While it uses Anvil, expect ray-traced water and 4K 60 FPS naval combat that will make the original look like a rowboat.

Release DateDelayedNow targeting April 2026 – March 2027.

My Hot Take: The delay is actually a blessing. After the Prince of Persia cancellation, Ubisoft knows they cannot afford to mess up their most beloved pirate adventure. I’d rather wait another year for a bug-free Caribbean than sail into a glitched-out storm.

Are you ready to sail the Jackdaw again, or has the wait for Skull and Bones soured your pirate dreams? Drop your favorite sea shanty in the comments—I'm already humming Leave Her Johnny!

Black Ops 7 Season 2: Safeguard Returns—Escort the D.A.W.G.!

Hey, Daily Quest readers.

ROBOT ESCORT CHAOS INCOMING! Treyarch has confirmed that Season 2 kicks off next week on February 5. While Season 1 was all about the Black Ops 2 nostalgia trip with Nuketown and Standoff, Season 2 is reviving one of the most intense team-play modes in the franchise.

The Return of Safeguard: Mechanics & The D.A.W.G.

For the uninitiated, Safeguard is a round-based mode where one team must escort a non-combat robot into the enemy's territory while the other team tries to blow it to smithereens.

  • The Payload: Instead of the generic G.I. Unit from 2015, we’re escorting the D.A.W.G. (Deployable Autonomous Weaponized Groundcraft). In this mode, the D.A.W.G. is stripped of its turrets—it’s a pure, non-combat bot that only moves when an attacker is standing near it.

  • The "Stun" Mechanic: If the D.A.W.G. takes enough damage, it enters a "reboot" state. Attackers must then stand nearby to repair it before it can resume the march.

  • The D.A.W.G. Petting? Yes, the "pet the dog" feature from the scorestreak version is rumored to be included as a victory emote for the winning team if they reach the goal!

Season 2 Roadmap: Maps, Ranked, & More

Safeguard isn't the only thing on the menu. Here is what we’re tracking for the February 5 launch:

  • The Maps: Leaks point to Plaza, Slums, and Yemen making their remastered debut. These Black Ops 2 classics were practically built for Safeguard’s narrow chokepoints.

  • Ranked Play: The "Pro" grind finally starts. Season 2 will introduce the first iteration of BO7 Ranked Play, featuring CDL rulesets and exclusive skill-division rewards.

  • Zombies: Astra Malorum Part 2: The story continues as Victoria Atwood initiates Project Synapse to unlock Mason's memories. Expect a new round-based map or a massive expansion to the current survival zones.

Season 2 Launch Prep

Safeguard ModeFeb 5, 2026PS5, Xbox, PC (Steam/Battle.net)
New WeaponsFeb 5, 2026Included in Battle Pass Tier 15/31
Warzone: AvalonFeb 5, 2026Massive "Blackout-style" map update

My Take: Safeguard > TDM

Safeguard has always been the "unsung hero" of Black Ops. It forces teams to work together and creates those legendary 1v6 clutch moments right at the goal line. With BO7’s "Omnimovement," flanking the escort path is going to be a high-octane nightmare for the defenders.

Are you ready to be a D.A.W.G. sitter, or are you strictly hunting for those Slums remasters? Let me know in the comments—I'll be the guy with the Trophy System stuck to the robot's head!

Share this with your squad so they have their escort loadouts ready for Feb 5.

Grounded 2: Toxic Tangle Live & The 2026 Roadmap Reveal!

Hey, Daily Quest readers.

The wait for more "Brookhollow" content is over! Yesterday, January 27, 2026, Obsidian unleashed the Toxic Tangle update. It’s the first major expansion since Early Access launched last July, and it’s leaning heavily into verticality, corruption, and massive boss energy.

The Toxic Tangle: What’s Lurking in the Garden?

The center of the update is the Community Garden biome. This isn't your average flower bed; it’s a greenhouse-adjacent jungle choked with "The Tang"—a sour, neon-blue corruption that’s warping the local insect life.

  • The Ladybug Buggy: The highlight of the update. It’s a literal biological tank. It features a pressurized water cannon (refillable at any water source) to wash away Tang sludge or blast Wasp Drones out of the sky.

  • Vertical Horrors: Get your climbing gear ready. The greenhouse requires serious vine-scaling to reach the top-shelf carrot jungles and pumpkin patches.

  • The Snake Colossus: It’s exactly what it sounds like. Located near the Croquet Court, this is the largest "Colossus" encounter yet. Pro Tip: Don't even try it without Tier III armor and a fast Buggy for the getaway.

Mutations 2.0: The Loadout Overhaul

Obsidian finally fixed the menu-juggling nightmare. Mutations are now split into Active and Passive categories.

  • Active: Traditional slots you manually equip.

  • Passive: These now apply automatically based on your equipped weapon. If you swap to a sword, your sword-mastery passives kick in instantly. This is a massive QoL win for mid-combat versatility.

The 2026 Roadmap: A Year of Growth

UpdateTimelineKey Features
Toxic TangleLIVE NOWGarden Biome, Ladybug Buggy, Snake Colossus.
PlaygroundsFeb 2026 (PTB)Standalone creative mode; Steam Deck/Ally verified.
Spring UpdateQ1 2026Black Anthill location, armor/weapon sets, "Buggy Mutations."
Summer UpdateQ2/Q3 2026"Redacted" Watery Biome. Water-based vehicles and bases!

New Building Kits: For the Backyard Architects

The builder community won big this time. The update adds the Pumpkin Set, a refreshed Mushroom Kit, and the long-requested Floor Hatches. You can finally build vertical bases with internal ladder access that keeps the Earwigs out!

My Hot Take: The Snake is Just the Start

The Snake Colossus is incredible, but the mention of a "Watery Biome" in the summer roadmap has me thinking of a "Subnautica-lite" experience in the park pond. With water-based vehicles confirmed, we might finally be getting the "Diving Bell" buggy we’ve dreamed of.

Are you ready to face the Colossus, or are you too busy building your new Pumpkin Fortress? Let me know in the comments—and tell me if that Ladybug water cannon is as OP as it looks!

Share this with your survival squad, and stay locked for the Spring Anthill teaser.

Destiny 2 Update 9.5.5: All-Star Buffs, Bow Supremacy, & Bug Squashes!

Hey, Daily Quest readers.

GUARDIANS, GEAR UP! Update 9.5.5 officially went live on January 28, 2026, bringing a massive wave of stability to the Renegades campaign and a significant power shift to the seasonal meta. Whether you’re hunting in the Lawless Frontier or pushing through the Portal, your toolkit just got a major tune-up.

The All-Star Glow-Up

The All-Star perk has been the subject of debate since the Heresy launch, but the bug suppressing its potential has finally been squashed.

  • The Fix: Previously, the PvE damage multiplier was being overwritten by the lower PvP values.

  • The New Stats: All-Star now provides a massive 35% multiplicative damage bonus in PvE and a respectable 15% in PvP.

  • Uptime: Picking up a Special ammo brick now grants exactly 7 seconds of this enhanced state. This makes Rocket-Assisted Sidearms and Fusions absolutely lethal in mid-tier content.

Arms Week III: Combat Bow Focus (Jan 27 – Feb 3)

Arms Week has returned, and this time, we’re going medieval. Ada-1 is back at the Shooting Range with a heavy focus on Combat Bows.

  • New Weapons: Look out for King Orfeo (Precision Frame Arc Bow) and The Heron (Aggressive Frame Void Glaive).

  • Volatile Mods: You can pick up limited-time mods like Tungsten Bowstring (Massive damage/Elemental explosions) and Jumpshot (Mid-air accuracy/Speed) to turn your bow into a railgun for the week.

  • Ada-1 Alert: There is a known bug where Ada-1 may reject Combat Telemetry or display old event currencies. Bungie is investigating, but for now, prioritize the Daily Challenges for your engram progress!

The Dark Age Hunt: Community Challenge

Ready to prove your mastery? The Dark Age Hunt is live until February 3.

  • The Goal: Complete the Warlord’s Ruin dungeon Solo using only Bows, Glaives, and Swords.

  • The Reward: Clearing this brutal challenge earns you the exclusive "Fallen Torches" emblem and the "Cut with Dark Age Steel, O Vengeance Mine" Triumph.

  • Pro Tip: Warlocks running Prismatic with Getaway Artist and Leviathan’s Breath are currently leading the clear times!

Patch 9.5.5 Performance Report

FeatureChange / FixVibe Check
Edge of FateDrops now scale above 300 Power.Essential for Raid catch-up!
Bane DronesReworked; now grants DR instead of total immunity.GM Portal runs just got less "cheesy."
Lightning SurgeFixed issues with Bolt Charge and Amplified state.Warlock melee builds are back on the menu.
Renegades UIDeath screen now correctly attributes Renegade Ability kills. Finally know what actually hit you!

My Hot Take: The All-Star Meta is Here

With a 35% multiplicative buff, All-Star is no longer a "nice-to-have"—it's a "must-slot" for boss DPS phases in the Desert Perpetual raid. If you haven't farmed a god-roll Praxic Blade or a high-impact Fusion with this perk, this is the week to do it.

Are you brave enough to take on the solo Warlord’s Ruin bow challenge? Or are you camping the Portal for that King Orfeo god-roll? Drop your loadouts in the comments—let’s see who’s rocking the best medieval hardware!

Share this with your Fireteam, and stay locked for the Heresy Act 2 teaser coming next month.
