Hey, Daily Quest readers.
If you've been online this week, you know that NVIDIA's DLSS 5 reveal has been the internet's favorite punching bag. And for good reason! The "before and after" screenshots looked less like a graphical upgrade and more like AI characters having a fever dream. Grace Ashcroft from Resident Evil Requiem and Leon Kennedy were unrecognizable, looking like entirely different, incredibly unsettling people. Now, thanks to a new fan-made website, you don't have to just imagine this nightmare. You can experience it yourself. The site lets you DLSS 5 Anything.
And yes, it is exactly as hilarious and terrifying as it sounds.
How To Use The "DLSS 5 Anything" Website
Let's be clear: This isn't an official NVIDIA tool. Given how poorly the company's CEO is taking the mockery online, they definitely didn't authorize this. It's a fan-made creation, and it's incredibly easy to use.
Here's the process:
- Head to the site (DLSS 5 Anything) and upload an image (or drag it right into the space provided).
- Click the giant NVIDIA-green button that says "DLSS 5 It!"
- Wait for the magic (or horror) to happen.
The site generates a sleek before-and-after comparison slider, mimicking the style of NVIDIA's official showcase. You can download the image, or even generate a video showing the "upgrade" happening in real time with a line scanning across the screen.
I Tried It, And Now I Need Therapy
Naturally, I had to test this out on myself immediately. The result? The AI decided I needed to look about 20 years older. Thanks, NVIDIA. Feeling adventurous, I then fed it Slurpuff from Pokémon.
I don't know what I was expecting, but I got a nightmarish, AI-distorted blob that looked like it crawled out of a cursed cartridge. It was as if an AI was tasked with making a cute pink creature look infinitely worse. It is currently burned into my retinas. I won't be sleeping tonight.
Fair warning, though — there does appear to be a usage limit on the generator, so choose your victims wisely.
The Meme War Is In Full Swing
The internet hasn't waited for this website to start roasting DLSS 5. Memes have been flooding social media all week:
- Movie Sonic turning back into his original, long-legged "gas station attendant" design.
- Kratos looking suspiciously like Ryan Hurst in the controversial live-action God of War image.
It's a wild time to be online, and this tool is just fueling the fire.
What's Next For NVIDIA?
Where NVIDIA goes from here is a mystery. Reports suggest Bethesda was well aware of what was coming, but things get weirder when you look at Capcom. It claims it had no idea Grace was going to become the face of "unsettling AI graphics." Wild, considering she's basically the poster child for the backlash now.
Whether you love the tech or hate it, you can now see how the green team thinks you should look.
