Disabled Arc Raiders Player Reportedly Perma-Banned For Using Accessibility Tools

Hey, Daily Quest readers.

This story is genuinely heartbreaking. Tay Huynh is a quadriplegic gamer who uses a QuadStick — a sip-and-puff mouth controller — to play video games, including Arc Raiders. After 300+ hours of legitimate gameplay, he received a permanent ban for "behavior that violates our code of conduct." He wasn't cheating. He was just playing.

The Full Story

Huynh explained on Reddit that he previously received a one-month ban from Arc Raiders. He filed appeals, raised the issue in the official Discord, and received no resolution. He decided to wait it out and return when his suspension ended.

One day after getting back into the game, he woke up to find his account permanently suspended.

"I don't have much going for me and I know they're people out there who are probably going through worse but this f**ing sucks. After 300+ hours of playing, buying it for three other friends to try the game and being excited for the new map and large ARC enemy, I just don't know what to do."*

Huynh shared videos of himself playing Fortnite with the QuadStick to prove he uses an accessibility controller — not hacks or exploits.

What Likely Happened

The most probable explanation? Arc Raiders' anti-cheat software flagged the QuadStick as a cheat tool instead of recognizing it as a legitimate accessibility device.

It's not uncommon for anti-cheat systems to struggle with third-party controllers and input devices. But here's the real problem: despite Huynh's appeals and evidence, Embark hasn't reversed the ban. A disabled player who invested hundreds of hours and bought the game for friends is now locked out — and nobody at Embark has stepped in to fix it.

This Needs To Be Fixed Immediately

This isn't just a PR nightmare — it's a failure of basic humanity. Arc Raiders' anti-cheat is already under scrutiny for catching cheaters slowly. Now it's also punishing disabled players who use accessibility tools.

Embark needs to:

  • Reverse the ban immediately
  • Review how their anti-cheat handles accessibility devices
  • Establish a clear process for accessibility-related appeals

We've reached out to Embark for comment, and we hope they address this urgently. No gamer should be locked out of a game they love because their controller looks unfamiliar to an algorithm.

Final Thoughts

Disabled gamers already face enough barriers to enjoying games. They shouldn't have to fear being banned for using tools that let them play at all.

This needs to be fixed. If you want to help, share this story and hold developers accountable. Stay questing — and follow @TheDailyQuest0 for more daily gaming quests. 🎮
