ARC Raiders Jan 28 HOTFIX Shadow Nerfs Reverted & Looting Fixed!

Hey, Daily Quest readers.

RAIDERS REJOICE! Following the community-wide revolt over yesterday’s "secret" nerfs in Update 1.13.0, Embark Studios has officially dropped Hotfix 1.13.1. They’ve owned the mess, labeling the sluggish looting and tanked fire rates as "unintended issues," and have rolled out a redemption patch just 24 hours later.

If you felt like your Kettle was shooting through molasses yesterday, it’s time to log back in.

1. The Weapon "Shadow Nerfs" are GONE

The most controversial part of yesterday’s update was the unlisted fire rate (RPM) reduction on several fan-favorite semi-autos. Embark has clarified this was a bug, not a stealth balance pass.

  • Kettle, Venator, & Burletta: Fire rates have been reverted to their pre-1.13.0 levels.

  • Dev Note: Embark explicitly stated: "This was not an intentional change. We always aim to include all changes in our patch notes, and we appreciate you flagging this quickly."

2. Looting Speed Restored

The agonizing wait for the first item to appear in a container has been fixed.

  • The Fix: Embark "rebalanced" the speed at which the first item appears when looting.

  • The Result: Looting is back to the fast-paced flow we had in December. Crucially, Looter’s Instincts upgrades are now working correctly again, providing that extra edge for high-level Raiders.

3. Missing Cosmetics & Localization

  • Raider Token Items: Some cosmetics that were hidden in the customization menu (unless already owned) have been restored to full visibility.

  • Ukrainian Text: Stray bits of Ukrainian localization that popped up unintentionally have been scrubbed while the team finishes the full translation.

IssueStatusDetails
Kettle/Venator RPMFIXEDReverted to post-1.10 standard speeds.
Looting RevealFIXEDSpeed matches pre-1.13.0 performance.
Xbox CrossplayDELAYEDXbox patch is pending; crossplay is currently OFF for Xbox players.
DDoS AttacksONGOINGServers are stabilizing, but "coordinated attacks" may still cause lag.

The "DDoS" Elephant in the Room

While the bugs are being squashed, Embark confirmed that both ARC Raiders and The Finals have been under extensive coordinated DDoS attacks today. If you’re experiencing sudden gear loss or "frozen" characters, the strike team is working on mitigations. Pro Tip: If the lag spikes, avoid taking your best Epic Augments into a raid until the "Servers Stabilized" green light is given on the official Discord.

Verdict: A Huge Win for Transparency

While 1.13.0 was a rough start for the 2026 roadmap, a 24-hour hotfix to revert unlisted nerfs is a massive show of good faith. The Kettle meta is back, and the Bird City rooftops are once again the place to be for fast, high-stakes looting.

Is the looting back to the speed you expected, or does it still feel a bit "weighty"? Drop your feedback below—I’m keeping a close eye on the RPM caps to make sure they actually stay reverted!

Share the news with your squad, and stay locked for the Shrouded Sky teaser coming in February.

Stay questing! @TheDailyQuest0
