Michael Myers and Haddonfield Exit DBD

The landscape of horror video games is changing as a major licensing shift is underway, involving two iconic franchises: Halloween and Stranger Things.

Dead by Daylight Welcomes Back Stranger Things

The survival horror game Dead by Daylight is preparing for a new surge of licensed content with a second Stranger Things crossover chapter, set to arrive in January 2026.

  • Release Timing: The announcement coincides with the series finale of Stranger Things on New Year's Eve.

  • Killer Speculation: A teaser strongly suggests that the antagonist Vecna will be the new Killer, despite the character (as The Lich) already being in the game as part of the Dungeons & Dragons crossover chapter.

  • Survivor Rumors: Community speculation centers on the addition of fan-favorite characters Jim Hopper and Joyce Byers as Survivors.

  • Original Chapter: The first Stranger Things pack, featuring the Demogorgon, Nancy Wheeler, and Steve Harrington, remains available today.

Michael Myers and Haddonfield Exit DBD

Concurrently, the chapter featuring the Michael Myers killer, the Laurie Strode survivor, and the Haddonfield (Lampkin Lane) map will be leaving Dead by Daylight on January 19, 2026, due to licensing expiration. All content unlocked before that date will remain playable, but the map will be removed from the rotation.

Michael Myers Moves to Illfonic's Halloween Game

Fans of Michael Myers and the fictional town of Haddonfield will soon find a new home. Illfonic's upcoming asymmetrical multiplayer game, Halloween, is filling the void left by Dead by Daylight's retiring content.

  • First Map Revealed: The game recently unveiled its first map, Haddonfield Heights, described as a "meticulously recreated map straight out of the 1978 horror classic."

  • Release Date: Halloween is currently scheduled for release on September 8, 2026, leaving fans without a Haddonfield map for only about eight months.

Would you like to know more about the perks associated with Michael Myers and Laurie Strode that will become general perks in Dead by Daylight after January 19, 2026?
